Future Transportation Safety

The advent of SAE Level 2-4 vehicles creates additional need for development of safety guidelines and regulations. Supplier and Vehicle OEM collaboration is needed to enable faster, more effective transportation of goods and people while improving safety, decreasing property damage, and saving lives.

TSEI is expanding its historical focus on lighting and mirrors to more broadly look at advancing technologies for vision. For instance, member companies are producing surround vision for school busses and backup vision systems for various vehicles. Lidar, RADAR, and ultrasonics are being used to “see” the environment around vehicles.

It’s an exciting time for these technologies with a myriad of opportunities to make progress.
