October 18 - 20, 2017

Thank you to all of you who were able to attend our recent fall meeting at the Law Offices of Foley & Lardner in Washington, DC. We had an excellent turnout and the contributions by the group at large were appreciated. Your participation in the committee and general meetings as well as the social events made this meeting a success.

For those members that were unable to attend, here are a few highlights of the meeting. This year’s event began with an informal round table discussion with Claudia Covell and Leroy Angeles from NHTSA's Office of Vehicle Safety and Compliance; and Brian Chodrow from NHTSA's Office of Safety Programs. An open discussion on non-compliant products and ways TSEI could be of assistance the port authorities with evaluating product for non-compliance onsite. Such items of interest were Warning Triangles and HID Conversion kits.  After lunch,  the Membership Meeting continued with a presentation from Bill Gouse, Director, Federal Program Development – SAE International. Mr. Gouse gave an update on SAE's work with Federal and State government agencies. To complete the meeting the TSEI Committee Chair's presented updates on their activities since the past meeting.

On Friday, the Membership Meeting continued with Chris Grigorian's Legal Report. The final speaker was Jen Walsh, Foley & Lardner that presented an overview of what was happening on the hill. Each of these speakers offered information and discussion relevant to our membership and their participation in our meeting is truly appreciated.
